1. Exult Healthcare Joins ARC Health

ARC Health, a Thurston Group portfolio company, announces the acquisition of Exult Healthcare (Exult), a distinguished mental health practice providing behavioral healthcare services to Texas residents.

ARC Health has been busy.

In December, they announced the acquisition of Advanced Psychiatric Group, and in November they announced the acquisition of Manhattan Psychology Group.

In fact, I count a total of 13 acquisitions in 2023 alone.

The ARC expansion is the latest wave of healthcare investments made by Thurston Group, a private equity firm that focuses on building industry-leading companies in the healthcare and related business services sectors.

2. Private-Public Partnerships Offer Behavioral Health Providers Instant Patient Population

To address rising youth mental health needs, public agencies are partnering with digital behavioral health companies to expand access to support services.

For example, New York City-based tele-mental health company Talkspace (Nasdaq: TALK) has been making waves with this deal recently. In November, the company announced a $26 million deal with the city of New York to provide behavioral health services to all adolescents aged 13 to 17 in the city. Between 400,000 to 500,000 teens will be eligible for the service.

Additionally, school-based telehealth provider Hazel Health teamed up with Los Angeles County to expand its district’s behavioral health services to 1.3 million children.

Behavioral health facilities are finding many creative way to form partnerships, and this article, written by Laura Lovett, does a great job of highlighting some of the key benefits.
