1. More Evidence That Plant Medicine Is Making It’s Way To Behavioral Health Mainstream

There’s no doubt more people are becoming interested in plant medicine techniques as an attempt to treat addiction and other mental health issues.

The search volume for “Ibogaine treatment” has increased nearly 4X over the last 5 years.

This week, NATURE magazine also published a study on if Ibogaine could be used to treat traumatic brain injuries and the emotional results of combat related trauma.

The study was performed at Ambio Life Sciences in Mexico.

"For Ambio, it further highlights the remarkable healing potential of ibogaine, which we're confident will expand the treatment landscape for veterans and many others."

Jonathan Dickinson, Ambio's CEO.

The paper documents substantial improvements on disability measures, as well as PTSD, depression and anxiety scores, both immediately after the treatment and at a one-month follow-up.

2. Uwill Acquires Christie Campus Health, Expands College Mental Health Services

On-campus mental health provider Uwill announced its first-ever acquisition on Tuesday.

The Natick, Massachusetts-based startup has acquired Lexington, Massachusetts-based Christie Campus Health. The latter provides counseling, mental health and wellness services to about 750,000 students at over 100 colleges, according to a news release. The terms of the deals were not disclosed.

“By combining Christie Campus Health with the sophisticated digital capabilities of the Uwill platform, we have assembled the team, technology and clinical resources to meet the diverse and growing needs of any college in the country,” Michael London, founder and CEO of Uwill, said in the release.

You’ll hear a lot of other agencies make promises to you and use certain buzz words like “reach”, or “brand”, or “UX.” Not us … we only care about two things. Traffic and phone calls. You won’t find another agency in this space as dedicated to driving phone calls as us. That’s why we’ve been in business since 2010, and why we are still the highest rated agency in the behavioral health space.

4. “Residential Addiction Treatment For Adolescents Is Scarce And Expensive”

Access to residential addiction treatment centers caring for U.S. adolescents under 18 years old in the United States is limited and costly, according to a new study supported by the National Institutes of Health. Researchers found that only about half (54%) of the residential addiction treatment facilities that they contacted had a bed immediately available, and for those that had a waitlist, the average estimated time before a bed opened was 28 days.

In addition, the average daily cost per day of treatment was $878, with close to half (48%) of the facilities that provided information requiring partial or full payment upfront. On average, the quoted cost of a month’s stay at a residential addiction treatment facility was over $26,000.
